Barcelona are reportedly keeping tabs on Liverpool forward Luis Diaz, with the Colombian ace rumored to be unhappy with the Reds for not improving his contract. Since joining the Anfield outfit in 2022 from Porto, the 27-year-old is currently enjoying his best run with them yet.

Diaz has scored eight goals in 17 Premier League games so far, and 12 in all competitions from 24 outings. He's become a valuable member of the squad under new manager Arne Slot and has chipped in with three assists too.

Diaz's contract with the Reds runs until 2027, but he is said to be unhappy with Liverpool's failure to offer an extension, as per Diario SPORT. The report also claims that Barcelona are keeping an eye on the forward.

In fact, La Blaugrana's sporting director Deco is reportedly an admirer of Diaz and the Catalonian giants have a good relationship with his agency.

As for Diaz, he's never looked sharper and deadlier for Liverpool than the ongoing season. Slot would definitely espouse the idea of keeping him as part of his long-term project, although the prospect of playing for a club of Barcelona's stature is tempting at the same time.

However, the rumor hasn't impressed some of Barca's fans, as the LaLiga outfit is struggling financially and could face trouble in registering players this January.

Luis Diaz needs just two more goals to set personal best for Liverpool

In 24 games for Liverpool so far this season, Luis Diaz has netted 12 goals in all competitions. Last season, he managed 13 in the entirety, which means he needs just two more to surpass that figure and set a new personal-best with the club.

Given his blistering run of form this season, it seems to be only a matter of time. Diaz appears to have finally found his feet at Anfield, demonstrating a lethal attacking instinct in front of goal. He's also forged a menacing attacking partnership with the in-form Mohamed Salah.

The Colombian winger is unlikely to entertain the idea of leaving the Reds in January as they seem set to challenge for a few major honors this season.
