Barcelona are hoping to get back to their best under Hansi Flick's guidance. The former Bayern Munich manager was handed the reins of the first team after Xavi's exit last month.

Meanwhile, the Catalans have learned Manchester City's asking price for Joao Cancelo. Elsewhere, Bayern Munich are no longer interested in Ronald Araujo.

On that note, let's look at the major Barcelona transfer stories from June 17, 2024.

Barcelona learn Joao Cancelo price

Manchester City are willing to allow Joao Cancelo to leave this summer reportedly for €30m, according to Mundo Deportivo. The Portuguese full-back joined Barcelona last summer on loan and was a first team regular in the 2023-24 campaign.

Cancelo appeared 42 times across all competitions last season, registering four goals and five assists. The Catalans are pleased with his efforts and are willing to keep him at Camp Nou.

The 30-year-old is no longer part of plans at the Etihad and the Premier League champions are ready to let him go. However, his price tag could make him out of bounds for the La Liga giants, who are experiencing financial issues at the moment.

Meanwhile, other clubs could find him affordable, and enter the race for Cancelo's services. However, the 30-year-old has always maintained that he wants a permanent move to Barcelona and that could work in the Catalans' favor.

Bayern Munich not eyeing Ronald Araujo, says Fabrizio Romano

Bayern Munich are not planning a move for Ronald Araujo this summer, according to acclaimed journalist Fabrizio Romano. The Uruguayan defender was wanted by the Bavarians in January, but failed to get a deal across the line.

Araujo enjoyed an impressive campaign with Barcelona, registering 37 appearances across all competitions. The German giants remain linked with a move for the 25-year-old this summer, with the club looking to rebuild under Vincent Kompany.

However, in his column for Caught Offside Romano added that Bayern have already moved on to Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah.

“Finally on Bayern, I have no information on bids being made for Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo. The last approach from Bayern was in January, but now it’s quiet between Bayern and Araujo,” wrote Romano.

He continued:

“For now, Bayern are working hard to sign Jonathan Tah after bringing in Ito. The situation around Araujo is quiet, he’s a crucial player for Barcelona so only a crazy bid could change the scenario.”

Araujo is under contract at Camp Nou until 2026.

Porto leading Vitor Roque race

Porto are the favorites to sign Vitor Roque this summer, according to SPORT. The Brazilian forward arrived at Camp Nou in January with a big reputation, but has failed to get going so far.

The 19-year-old scored two goals from 16 games, struggling to break into Xavi's plans and mostly appearing from the bench. With the Spanish manager gone, things could look up for Vitor Roque, but recent reports have suggested that Barcelona remain ready to let him go.

Despite his recent struggles, there's no lack of interest in the Brazilian's services. Manchester United and Atletico Madrid have been linked with the player of late, but it appears that Porto are in the driving seat to sign him.

Catalans sporting director Deco has already been in talks with Porto president Andre Villas-Boas regarding a loan move for the Brazilian. The La Liga giants would prefer to offload him permanently in order to help their finances.

However, it has also been reported that Hansi Flick intends to assess the teenager in pre-season before coming to a decision regarding his future. Vitor Roque was initially signed as Robert Lewandowski's eventual successor and that apparently remains the plan.
