Barcelona are hoping to get back to their heydays under the guidance of Hansi Flick. The German tactician was appointed the new manager at Camp Nou at the end of last season, following Xavi's departure.

Meanwhile, the Catalans have reached an agreement on personal terms with Dani Olmo. Elsewhere, the Spanish giants want €30m to allow a Brazilian forward to leave this summer.

On that note, let's look at the major Barcelona transfer stories from August 2, 2024.

Barcelona have agreed personal terms with Dani Olmo ahead of a possible move this summer, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. The Catalans identified the Spaniard as a target early this summer and are pushing to secure his services.

Olmo rose through the ranks at Camp Nou and there's a good chance that he could return to his alma mater this year. The La Liga giants' initial offer for the 26-year-old was rejected by RB Leipzig.

Barcelona have now returned with an improved bid for the Spaniard. They are offering a €55m guaranteed fee, with €4m in achievable add-ons and a further €3m in difficult bonuses. The Catalan side have already agreed on a six-year deal with the 26-year-old until 2030 and are now awaiting a response from the Bundesliga club.

The La Liga giants are desperate to bring their former player back to Camp Nou after faltering in their efforts to sign Nico Williams this summer. The Spaniard has reportedly decided to stay at Athletic Bilbao for now.

Hansi Flick has stepped up his efforts to secure the Olmo's signature, as he considers the Spaniard a superb fit for his plans. Recent reports have suggested that Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City also have their eyes on the Spaniard.

Catalans want €30m for Vitor Roque

Barcelona are willing to allow Vitor Roque to leave this summer for €30m, according to AS. The Brazilian forward has been a disappointment since joining the Catalan side in January.

The 19-year-old was expected to learn the tricks of the trade from Robert Lewandowski and eventually replace the Pole at the club. However, Roque failed to live up to the billing and is now a peripheral figure at the club.

New manager Hansi Flick wanted to assess the player in pre-season before making a decision on his future. However, the Brazilian was underwhelming against Manchester City, with new signing Pau Victor catching the eye instead. Roque failed to impress going forward and his lack of defensive discipline was also evident.

The La Liga giants are willing to cash in on the player this summer and have already set their asking price. The Brazilian is wanted in Saudi Arabia but reportedly has no desire to move to the Middle East at the moment.

Barcelona are also open to a loan exit, although the player's agent has previously insisted that he won't leave on a temporary move. Recent reports have suggested that Lazio have their eyes on the 19-year-old.

Barcelona are planning to sign both Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo on temporary deals this summer, according to Mundo Deportivo. Both players spent last season on loan at Camp Nou and the club are hoping to bring them back.

Recent reports have suggested that the Catalans have sent Manchester City a loan proposal for Cancelo which includes £7m in loan fees, with an £18m obligation to buy. However, the report from Mundo Deportivo refutes those claims, insisting that the La Liga giants won't pay any fee for the right-back and want him in a simple loan deal.

Barcelona are also trying the same approach for Felix, whose future with Atletico Madrid also hangs in the balance. The 24-year-old has been identified as a possible alternative to Nico Williams, who looks unlikely to arrive this summer. The Catalan giants want the Portuguese duo this summer, but on simple loan deals, without any fees involved.
