The agent of Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah has set the records straight with regards to rumors flying around on the future of the star. The Egyptian star has been linked with an exit from the club in each of the last two summers and is in the final year of his contract.
Salah was on the scoresheet for the Reds in their win over Manchester United just before the international break, and he revealed that talks had not started over a new deal. The player appeared to insinuate that this could be his final season with the club, stating that he will see how things are in the summer before deciding.
Rumors emerged during the break that the 32-year-old forward is pushing for a new deal, and his agent emphatically shut down the claims on X. Ramy Abbas Issa refuted the claims, attributing them to journalists who have zero knowledge of how things are between the player and Liverpool.
"FYI – all those ‘journalists’ who imply having ‘inside information’ about Mohamed’s future are making claims/posts based on absolutely nothing. Just click-wh**ing. “Sources close to Mohamed” don’t exist. This post is really just to tell you that they don’t know," he wrote.
Mohamed Salah has been at Anfield since 2017 and is already one of the club's most iconic players of all-time. With 214 goals and 92 assists to his name in Red, the Egyptian forward may choose to end his spell at Anfield at the end of this season.
Salah has started the season in excellent form, scoring and providing an assist in each of the first three games for Liverpool. He also scored once for Egypt on his 100th appearance for the country during the international break, continuing his fine form.
Liverpool receive huge boost as midfielder avoids injury
Liverpool have received a boost ahead of facing Nottingham Forest in their Premier League meeting on Saturday, September 14. The Reds will have Argentine midfielder Alexis Mac Allister in their ranks for their home game against Forest, Arne Slot confirmed.
Mac Allister came off with an apparent injury when Argentina faced Chile in their first FIFA World Cup qualifier of September. The 25-year-old started the second game against Colombia on the bench, eventually making a late cameo in Barranquilla.
Slot confirmed in his press conference that the former Brighton & Hove Albion man is fit and available, and trained with the team on Thursday. The Dutch manager expects him to be with the squad on Saturday, although it remains to be seen if he starts the game.
