Arsenal fans have lauded Thomas Partey for his performance in their 3-1 comeback win over Brentford on Wednesday (January 1). The Gunners began 2025 with a comfortable win over the Bees, despite conceding an early goal.

Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring for Brentford in the 13th minute after being set up by Mikkel Damsgaard. Gabriel Jesus equalized for the Gunners in the 29th minute, placing his header into the back of the net after Partey's shot was saved by Mark Flekken.

In the 50th minute, Mikel Merino made it 2-1 after firing a close-range rebound into the net. Three minutes later, Gabriel Martinelli placed his shot into the bottom right corner to secure the win for Arsenal.

Partey played an important role in the Gunners' midfield alongside Martin Odegaard and Mikel Merino. He maintained a passing accuracy of 84% (52/62), won three tackles, and six out of six ground duels contested (via FotMob).

In the game's aftermath, fans took to X to express their satisfaction with Partey's performance, with one tweeting:

Gabriel Jesus started as the Gunners' centre-forward and marked the occasion with another goal. In 89 minutes on the pitch, he had a passing accuracy of 75% (24/32). He registered two shots on target and took 50 touches, including 13 in the opposition box (via FotMob).

The Brazilian striker has scored three goals in 16 Premier League appearances this season. Jesus has scored six goals in his last five games across all competitions, proving that he's regaining his attacking form.

The Gunners are ranked second in the Premier League table, having registered 39 points from 19 games. They are six points behind league leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand.
