Pundit names team that can defeat Liverpool in PL title race.

Pundit Tim Sherwood has claimed that Arsenal can still manage to beat Liverpool in the race for the Premier League title. Arne Slot's side have been in the driver's seat in the title race thus far although they could only draw their last two league games.

At the moment, Liverpool are two points clear of second-placed Chelsea with a game in hand. Arsenal, on the other hand, are six points behind the Reds having also played a game more than the Merseyside giants.

However, Tim Sherwood believes Mikel Arteta's side are the favorites for the title despite their poor results of late. The Gunners have also drawn their last two games but Sherwood has backed them to win 10 or 15 games on the bounce. Speaking on The Weekend Wrap, the former Tottenham Hotspur manager said, as quoted by TBR Football:

“Pep Guardiola and Man City have been his only problem, and they’re not there any more, so, for me, I know I’ve said it before, they’re my favourites to win the Premier League. I think Arsenal win 10 or 15 games on the spin when they get back to fitness, but they need to improve, Martinelli needs to improve or they need to go to Trossard and find a different solution."

At the start of the season, Manchester City and Arsenal were widely considered the two title contenders. Liverpool, on the other hand, were tipped to go through a transition with a managerial change taking place.

However, Arne Slot has surprised everyone with a phenomenal start to his tenure at Anfield. He has won 19 of his 23 games in charge of the Reds, drawing three and losing just once.

Jamie Carragher hails Liverpool target who has been excellent in PL this season

Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher has hailed Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez who has been widely linked with a switch to Anfield. The former England defender believes the Hungarian has what it takes to replace Andrew Robertson.

Robertson has been heavily criticized for his poor showings this season and the Reds are reportedly looking for a long-term replacement. Jamie Carragher has claimed that Kerkez could be the perfect successor to the Scotsman. The former Liverpool defender told on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football:

“Andy Robertson needs help, and he [Kerkez] has been a revelation at Bournemouth. The only reason why I mention Liverpool is the fact that, yes, they’re probably looking for someone in that position, but the fact that the sporting director who brought him to Bournemouth, Richard Hughes, is now the sporting director at Liverpool."

Carragher added:

“He’s aggressive, he’s got pace. Even when you look at him, he looks like a full-back. Little, really aggressive, after wingers on that side. He’s just bombing up and down that left side. He’s been superb since he’s come into the Premier League with Bournemouth, and he’s probably one to watch for the future, whether he stays at the club or moves on, because he’s made that much of an impact.”

Kerkez has been a key player for Bournemouth since joining the Cherries in 2023 from AZ. He has only grown from strength to strenth this season having scored once and provided two assists in 16 league games.

The Reds have been linked with a number of left-backs with Kerkez being one of their reported targets. They are also said to be monitoring Wolves' Rayan Ait-Nouri and Fulham's Antonee Robinson.
