Cristiano Ronaldo "would be very welcome back at Manchester United" if he opts to leave Al-Nassr: Red Devils legend Teddy Sheringham

Conversations around Cristiano Ronaldo's potential return to Manchester United emerged after Portuguese tactician Ruben Amorim was appointed as the Red Devils' head coach. Amorim will replace Erik ten Hag, who was sacked last week after United's worst ever start to a Premier League season.

Ronaldo left England under controversial circumstances after he publicly lashed out at the club in an interview in November 2022. He eventually moved to Saudi Arabia to play for Al-Nassr in January 2023, and he has been there ever since.

However, Teddy Sheringham believes a spot could be available for Ronaldo under Amorim. Speaking about the Portuguese legend, Sheringham told Flashscore (via GOAL):

"Cristiano Ronaldo would be very welcome back at Manchester United under Ruben Amorim, but he is onto bigger and better things. I think that Ronaldo will follow in the path of David Beckham in doing things away from coaching, higher profile things around the world."
"I'm sure he'd be very, very welcome in any capacity coming back to the club, but I doubt that he'll be a coach."

In the meantime, Ronaldo has continued to impress for the Knights of Najd. Despite his age, the 39-year-old remains on top of his game, having scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 14 games this season.
