Premier League giants Chelsea have reportedly joined Real Madrid and Manchester United in the race to sign Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen. The 19-year-old centre-back joined the Cherries from Juventus this summer for a reported €15.2 million transfer fee.
Huijsen has been one of the mainstays in the Bournemouth backline this season. The Amsterdam-born defender has played 14 games across competitions and scored a couple of goals. In the Premier League, he averages an impressive 3.9 clearances per game and boasts an 85% passing accuracy. The Spanish U-21 international has also been included in the team of the week thrice.
At present, Chelsea have six centre-backs in their lineup - Levi Colwill, Axel Disasi, Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Tosin Adarabioyo, and Renato Veiga. However, Fofana and Badiashile are sidelined due to injury. Therefore, Maresca is seemingly looking for a backup option to reinforce the team's backline.
According to Chelsea journalist and podcast host Simon Philips (reported by CaughtOffside), Chelsea have Huijsen on their list of targets and will likely enquire for the defender in January.
Similarly, Real Madrid have their defensive woes with stars like Eder Militao and David Alaba sidelined due to long-term injuries. Meanwhile, Manchester United are 14th in the Premier League table and looking to strengthen their defense in January.
When Chelsea star Noni Madueke waxed lyrical about Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr.
Noni Madueke recently lavished praise on Brazilian ace Vinicius Jr., calling him the best player he has ever played against. Vinicius Jr. ranked second in the Ballon d'Or ranking this year and also won The Best FIFA Men's Player Award.
While speaking to former English goalkeeper Ben Foster for Amazon Prime, Madueke was asked about the best player he has ever faced off against. The 22-year-old replied:
“Best player I’ve played against? Vinicius Jr. He’s unbelievable and he’s relentless."
The winger was first brought to Real Madrid in the summer of 2018 from Brazilian outfit Flamengo. In 285 games played for Los Blancos so far, he has scored 97 goals and created 83 more.
Over the years, Vinicius Jr. has established himself as one of the most lethal attackers in Europe. The left-winger is known for his amazing runs, brilliant ball control, and ability to find goals in crunch situations.
This season, he has already racked up 13 goals and nine assists in 20 club games across competitions.
