Chelsea forward Jadon Sancho has returned to team training after a spell on the sidelines, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Englishman joined the Blues on a loan with an obligation to buy from Manchester United this summer.
The Blues have had an excellent start to the 2024-25 campaign under Enzo Maresca. They are third in the Premier League table, level on points with fourth-placed Arsenal and four points behind third-placed Manchester City.
Chelsea signed Sancho on loan just before the transfer deadline this summer from Manchester United. The England international had a falling out with Erik ten Hag last season and was exiled from the squad, subsequently spending the second half of the campaign on loan at Borussia Dortmund.
Sancho showed great form initially for the west Londoners this term. He scored consecutively in his first three appearances for the club against Bournemouth, West Ham United, and Brighton & Hove Albion in September.
The 24-year-old was dropped for Chelsea's league and Carabao Cup fixtures against Newcastle United at the end of last month, which Maresca had explained was due to their hectic schedule.
It was subsequently stated that Sancho would be unavailable for their Manchester United draw on November 3 due to illness, and the England international has been sidelined since.
After his sickness and a reported knock, the Evening Standard claimed that Sancho is expected to return after the international break for the Blues' league fixture against Leicester City on Saturday.
Fabrizio Romano now seems to have corroborated this claim, with the journalist reporting that Sancho returned to the training ground on Monday (November 18).
Chelsea star Jadon Sancho reacts after fan asks him "Ten Hag's gone, you coming back to United?" - Reports
Jadon Sancho reportedly had a nonchalant reaction to a fan's question about his future and whether a return to Old Trafford is on the cards.
Manchester United parted ways with Erik ten Hag at the end of last month after the Dutch boss left the club in 14th place in the Premier League and 21st place in the Europa League.
The Red Devils have appointed now-former Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim, who is set to face Ipswich Town this weekend (November 24) in his first game in charge.
Now that Ten Hag is no longer in the picture, many are curious about where Sancho's future lies and whether Amorim could give him a second chance at Old Trafford.
After Chelsea's 1-1 draw against Arsenal on November 10, a fan reportedly approached Sancho and asked:
"Ten Hag's gone, you coming back to United?"
The Englishman, however, refused to respond and ignored the inquisitive supporter.
