Premier League giants Chelsea have reportedly revealed their stance on Christopher Nkunku's future at the club amid exit links. They signed the 27-year-old Frenchman in the summer of 2023 from German side RB Leipzig for a reported €60 million transfer price.

In 26 games played for the west London side across competitions this season, Nkunku has registered 12 goals and four assists. This includes five goals in as many games in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Despite being a regular scorer in the Conference League, the Frenchman has started just two games in the Premier League this season. In his place, coach Enzo Maresca has preferred Senegalese forward Nicolas Jackson. As per a report by Football Insider, Nkunku is unhappy with his game time at the club.

However, journalist Kieran Gill has reported (via @MailSport and quoted by @CFCPys) that Chelsea are happy with their strikers. They don't plan on letting Christopher Nkunku go and need him to fill in for Jackson in case of an injury.

At present, the Blues are fourth in the Premier League table with 35 points in 18 games. The club is also at the summit of the UEFA Conference League table, having won all six games.

Despite being sidelined by Maresca, Nkunku might still have a successful season if the club wins silverware at the end of the season. This might allow him to look for better opportunities in future transfer windows.

Football pundit Alan Shearer recently opened up on the Premier League title race on The Rest Is Football podcast. With almost half the season over, the Premier League title race is heating up. Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool look like the top three teams in contention with Nottingham Forest being a surprise inclusion in the mix.

Talking about the title race, Shearer waxed lyrical about Arne Slot's Liverpool. The Merseysiders are currently at the top of the Premier League table with 42 points in 17 games.

"Arne Slot has done an amazing job at Liverpool. They've been brilliant and they've got so many options in so many positions. The big surprise obviously is Manchester City and what's happened to them. I can't see Liverpool going away now," said Shearer.

About the Blues, he said:

"I'm not convinced Chelsea will be where they are at this moment at the end of the season, I could be wrong. I'm going for Liverpool. They've got so many options. They are strong in every position."

Last season, Chelsea finished sixth in the Premier League table under Mauricio Pochettino. However, they have been going strong under Maresca, having lost just three games so far in the Premier League.
