According to a report on Caught Offside, Chelsea are interested in Liverpool target Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. The Borussia Dortmund forward has been impressive for the German giants, scoring 13 and assisting as many in 77 games across competitions.
The 20-year-old joined the Bundesliga club in 2020 from Manchester City's youth ranks and has established himself as one of the most promising young players in the world. Bynoe-Gittens has been impressive this season, bagging eight goals and four assists in 19 games across competitions. If allowed to depart, he is expected to command a massive fee, with the report expecting him to cost up to €100 million.
Chelsea and Liverpool will have to compete for the promising midfielder's signature, but with his contract running till the summer of 2028, Dortmund hold the advantage in any negotiations.
Bynoe-Gittens was on the scoresheet in BVB's 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga on Saturday, November 30.
Enzo Maresca does not believe Chelsea are in the title race with Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca does not believe his side are in the title race with Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal this season. After a fine start to the campaign, the Blues are fifth on the Premier League table.
Maresca, who took charge of the club in the summer, has turned around Chelsea's fortunes. They could be as high as second by the end of the weekend if results go their way.
Discussing his side's title credentials in a recent interview, Maresca said via FotMob:
"No [Chelsea are not in the title race], I said it many times, I really like the pressure. I'd like to say: 'Yes, we're there' - but we're not there. It's nice to see the team improving, that is important; it is nice, a good feeling. At the same time, you need to be realistic, and you can see the difference between us and the rest at the moment."
"This doesn't mean we're not going to win games and not compete until the end, but the main focus has to be the feeling we're improving game after game. Arsenal is five years together [with manager Mikel Arteta], City more than eight years together [under Pep Guardiola]. Liverpool is a bit different, but they didn't make many changes from the past. This is the reason. It's not about points or difference in the table, it's just the time together," he added.
Chelsea will face Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, December 1.
