Enzo Maresca's Chelsea are reportedly looking forward to offloading Cesare Casadei and Carney Chukwuemeka in the January transfer window, as per talkSPORT. The Blues are seemingly keen on trimming their large squad.

Cesare Casadei joined the Stamford Bridge outfit from Inter Milan in August 2022 for a reported transfer fee of £16 million. Since then, he has made only 17 appearances for Chelsea. In addition to that, the midfielder has played for Reading and Leicester City on loan.

Casadei is yet to play a Premier League game this season and is expected to leave the club in January as Enzo Maresca aims to trim the squad. According to the aforementioned report, Serie A side Torino are interested in signing the Italian on a permanent deal.

Carney Chukwuemeka is also expected to leave the Blues in January. Chukwuemeka is an academy product of Aston Villa and joined the West London club from the Villans in August 2022. Since then, he has made 32 appearances for the senior team, bagging two goals and one assist.

However, like Casadei, the English midfielder hasn't played in the Premier League under Enzo Maresca. The Blues are open to selling the 21-year-old if a club meets his £40 million release clause.

According to talkSPORT, Barcelona are long-term admirers of Chukwuemeka. Apart from the two midfielders, left-back Ben Chilwell could also leave the Stamford Bridge outfit in the winter transfer window.

Barcelona considering a move for Chelsea midfielder after failing to register Dani Olmo: Reports

Hansi Flick's Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea on a loan deal as a replacement for Dani Olmo, as per CaughtOffside. La Blaugrana have failed to register Olmo, who they signed last summer from RB Leipzig.

Nkunku joined Stamford Bridge in July 2023 from Leipzig for a reported transfer fee of £53 million. He has missed a few matches due to hamstring, hip and knee injuries. The Frenchman has made 41 appearances for Chelsea, bagging 15 goals and four assists across all competitions.

Nkunku has only started three matches in the Premier League this season, accumulating 390 minutes in 18 appearances. As a result, he could leave the Blues in pursuit of more minutes, with Barcelona being a potential suitor.
