Palmer is trying his best to gain full fitness for the Arsenal game

Chelsea attacker Cole Palmer posted an Instagram update on his injury as he races against time to be fit for the Blues' Premier League clash against Arsenal. The two London rivals face off at the Stamford Bridge on Sunday, November 10.

Palmer picked up a knock during Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Manchester United on November 3 and has since been trying to get fit in time for the London derby. He wasn't part of the squad that demolished FC Noah 8-0 in the UEFA Conference League in the midweek.

The England international posted a story where he can be seen undergoing cold-compression therapy on his injured left knee. It is clear that the forward is trying his best to be fit in time for the upcoming game.

Palmer is undoubtedly among the most important players for Enzo Maresca. He has led from the front this season as well, scoring seven and assisting five in 12 games across competitions so far.

The 22-year-old has a perfect record against Arsenal. He has played just one Premier League game against the Gunners so far, and scored in a 2-2 draw last season.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca gives update on Cole Palmer's injury

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca commented on Cole Palmer's fitness status during a recent press conference. He revealed that the attacker was yet to train after the Manchester United game but the club are hopeful that he would be ready in time.

The tactician confirmed that a decision on Palmer's availability for the Arsenal game will be taken on Saturday. He said (via Metro):

"He’s better. He’s getting better. If he can walk and have dinner, that doesn’t mean he is completely fit. He is getting better and we still have two days to prepare for the game. Hopefully, we can have him for a session, at least on Saturday, and then we take a decision."

Arsenal and Chelsea are involved in a top-four battle, with the latter currently occupying the fourth place. While the Gunners also have the same number of points (18), they are fifth on goal difference.
