Cristiano Ronaldo is once again expected to be an important player as Al-Nassr take on Al-Shabab on May 23 in a Saudi Pro League (SPL) clash. The Portuguese superstar flaunted a stylish watch ahead of the match.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been Al-Nassr's main goalscorer since joining the Saudi Arabian club as a free agent. He has so far scored 13 goals and has provided three assists for the Middle Eastern side. The Portuguese was on the scoresheet when Al-Nassr defeated Al-Ta'ee in their previous game by a score of 2-0.
Al-Nassr are looking to give league leaders Al-Ittihad a late run for their money. They have 60 points from 27 matches and trail Al-Ittihad by three points. Cristiano Ronaldo is once again the team's best bet for fetching positive results in the upcoming matches. The 38-year-old is seemingly in a good mood ahead of the next game against Al-Shabab.
Portuguese coach spoke about Cristiano Ronaldo's impact on the Saudi Pro League
Since Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr, the Saudi Pro League's popularity has skyrocketed. The players are also more keen on performing better when they take on the Riyadh-based team.
Filipe Gouveia, a Portuguese coach who helped Al-Hazm get promoted to the Saudi Pro League, recently spoke about the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's impact, saying (via O Jogo):
"The arrival of Ronaldo was very important. Now we are talking about Messi. For us, Portuguese coaches, it was a fantastic bet and in the country there is a big difference in habits and situations in the cultural and social sphere from three years ago to now. You can breathe better, things are more open, and there are already three cities much closer to Europe. This internationalization of the championship with big names is stimulating."
He added:
"Foreign players make the difference in terms of mentality, work. That's why it's crucial to find players with Ronaldo's profile, hard work, and maximum demands, who can act as an example for the Saudis."
"And that's what we were also looking for, bringing Joel Tagueu, Francis Cann, and Ben Traoré, who came from Portugal. They are athletes with a spirit of sacrifice and high professionalism. In Saudi Arabia, you can already find talent and quality, but the mentality is reduced."
Since Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival, the Saudi Pro League is now being broadcast in 137 different countries across the globe. Players now have better exposure which could help their careers.
