Cristiano Ronaldo Jr was spotted wearing Lionel Messi's Argentina teammate Alejandro Garnacho's jersey in recent images shared by Ronaldo's partner, Georgina Rodriguez on social media. Despite being Messi's teammate, Garnacho is a well-known admirer of Ronaldo.

On Monday, October 7, Georgina Rodriguez took to her Instagram stories to share an image of Ronaldo Jr using his laptop. The youngster was spotted wearing the latest Manchester United number 17 away jersey with Alejandro Garnacho's name on it. The caption said:

"Deberes (Homework)."

Garnacho is slowly becoming prominent in the Argentina national team, especially with the retirement of legends like Angel Di Maria. However, the Red Devils star has shared the pitch with Lionel Messi only once so far during an international friendly against Australia in June 2023. Garnacho was a part of La Albiceleste's 2024 Copa America squad.

Despite being Messi's compatriot, Alejandro Garnacho has shared his admiration for his former club legend Cristiano Ronaldo on previous occasions. The 20-year-old has shared the pitch with Ronaldo in six games for the Red Devils, recording one joint-goal contribution.

Garnacho is one of the most significant players in the Manchester United squad, having 19 goals and 13 assists in 97 appearances for the club across competitions so far.

When Alejandro Garnacho shared his take on the Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo debate

In a January 2024 talk with iShowSpeed, Alejandro Garnacho shared his take on the age-old Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo debate. The forward gave a neutral response, stating:

“Messi or Ronaldo? They’re both amazing and great for me, I’m admiring them both same.”

Garnacho has shared his experience of playing with both legends of the game on various occasions. After sharing the pitch with Cristiano Ronaldo for the first time in the Man United senior team, Garnacho shared an image with the Portuguese forward, captioning it, "the greatest of all time." Ronaldo had notably scored a hattrick in the game.

Garnacho's post garnered a cheeky response from his compatriot Sergio Aguero, who commented (via ESPN):

"[You are saying this] because you still haven't played with the best, Lionel Messi."

Aguero's comment is currently unavailable on Garnacho's post.

Meanwhile, Garnacho also revealed that it was surreal for him to play alongside Lionel Messi for Argentina. Speaking before sharing the pitch for the first time with Messi, Garnacho said (via 90min):

"I haven't spoken to Messi much. I've watched him on TV all my life and now he's right here, it's amazing. It doesn't seem real."

The youngster also thanked Lionel Messi on Instagram via a comment on the latter's post, referring to him as "captain" after winning the 2024 Copa America alongside the legend. Garnacho has dedicated multiple other posts to both Messi and Ronaldo, keeping his stance on the legends neutral for the most part.
