Al-Nassr are reportedly looking to provide Cristiano Ronaldo with increased firepower at the club by making a move to sign Canada international Jonathan David. The Lille striker is in the final six months of his contract with the Ligue 1 outfit, leading to increased interest from multiple sides
Cristiano Ronaldo has found the net 10 times in 12 league appearances for Al-Nassr this season, but his goals have only earned his side a fourth place in the league. Keen to rectify this, the Saudi giants are looking to do a smart deal for the 24-year-old striker to join them this month.
Journalist Rudy Galetti reports that Al-Nassr are preparing an offer of €10 million to Lille for the transfer of the striker, who would otherwise leave the club for free in the summer. They also have a contract worth €6 million per year for three years in place for the striker, as per the report.
Jonathan David has been considered by a number of European sides for a free transfer in the summer due to his contract situation. The Canadian striker is a target for Barcelona, who view him as a possible heir to Robert Lewandowski, and Arsenal, who are in need of attacking firepower.
David's preference remains to stay in Europe, where he undoubtedly has a number of suitors, but the contract being offered by the Saudi outfit may tempt him. The striker has scored 11 goals and provided an assist in 15 league appearances for Lille this season and is one of their most important players.
The opportunity to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane may be too good for David to turn down this month. The situation of the striker will be interesting, as it remains to be seen if Al-Nassr lodge an official bid for him.
Ligue 1 giants shut down rumors of interest in Al-Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo - Reports
Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have denied rumors of interest in Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo in the January transfer window. The French giants have clarified that they are not actively looking to sign the former Real Madrid man, as this represents a move away from their philosophy.
Under Luis Enrique, PSG are looking to sign only young players, and if possible, only French players, to their club. Les Parisiens do not wish to have any 'Galactico' players on their books, particularly after releasing Kylian Mbappe in the summer.
PSG are in need of attacking reinforcements after Randal Kolo Muani was declared surplus to requirement this season. They will not, however, be targeting Ronaldo to replace the France international, and will likely go for someone younger.
