Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo showed his softer side as he allowed a young pitch invader to click a selfie with him midmatch on Friday. The game saw Ronaldo score both goals in his team's 2-0 Saudi Pro League home win over Damac.

The 39-year-old opened the scoring from the spot in the 17th minute before adding another 11 minutes from time. The incident in question happened while Ronaldo was up in the box when a young fan darted towards him, with stewards approaching to whisk the fan off.

The five-time Ballon d'Or, though, hugged the fan and clicked a selfie before stewards took him off the field. OneFootball tweeted a video of the incident:

It's pertinent to note that a similar incident had happened at Euro 2024 during Portugal's match with Turkey. Selecao boss Roberto Martinez said at the time, highlighting the vulnerability of players in such situations if fans don't have 'good' intentions (as per the Mirror):

"It is a concern because today we were lucky that the intentions of the fans were good. We all love a fan who recognises the big stars and the big icons in their life. We all agree with that. But there is a very, very difficult moments if those intentions are wrong – the players are exposed, and we need to be careful with that.
"I don't think that should happen on a football pitch. There is a lot of security and a lot of protection and it should not happen. And probably we should give a message to the fans that it's not (the) right way."

Ronaldo and Co. won that game 3-0 en route a quarter-final defeat to France on penalties.

Cristiano Ronaldo has had a decent second full season with Al-Nassr, where he arrived on a free transfer in December 2022 after more than two decades in European football.

In 18 games across competitions, Ronaldo has registered 15 goals and three assists. Most of the goal contributions - nine goals and two assists in 11 games - have come in the Saudi Pro League, where Stefano Pioli's side are third, six points behind leaders Al-Ittihad.

The aforementioned brace against Damac on Friday took Ronaldo's record-extending career tally to 915 goals, having breached the 900-goal mark against Croatia in a UEFA Nations League game in September.
