Al-Nassr talisman Cristiano Ronaldo was recently captured on video, sharing a lighthearted moment with a fan outside Al-Awwal Stadium. The fan requested Ronaldo to perform his iconic 'Siuu' celebration, which prompted laughter from the Portuguese superstar.
Since joining Al-Nassr in 2023, Cristiano Ronaldo has significantly expanded his fanbase in the Middle East, elevating the profile of the Saudi Pro League. His influence has not only drawn global attention to the league but also attracted several top European players to Saudi Arabia.
Even at the age of 39, Cristiano Ronaldo continues to perform at an elite level in Saudi Arabia. He is second on the goalscoring charts in the league this season, one goal behind Al-Hilal striker Aleksandr Mitrovic. His iconic 'Siuu' celebration is loved by millions of his fans worldwide.
Recently, a video emerged on social media, showing Ronaldo signing a customized Al-Nassr jersey featuring his name. After signing the jersey, a fan enthusiastically asked him to perform his signature celebration.
Initially, Cristiano Ronaldo misunderstood the request, as it sounded like 'Si' to him. The fan then mimicked the celebration and shouted 'Siu'' to clarify the request, prompting Ronaldo to burst into laughter before leaving the scene.
Ronaldo’s most recent goal for Al-Nassr came from the penalty spot in a 3-1 victory over Al-Akhdoud in the Saudi Pro League on January 9. The legendary player will next take to the field with the Knights of Najd on Friday (January 17) when they face Al-Taawoun in the league.
When Cristiano Ronaldo revealed where his 'Siuu' celebration originated from
Cristiano Ronaldo is renowned for jumping in the air and making a swivel move, which is always accompanied by him saying 'Siuuu' whenever he scores a goal. After the iconic celebration's debut in 2013, the Portuguese icon continues to do it even today.
In 2019, Ronaldo revealed the match where the iconic celebration was birthed, saying he first did it against Chelsea in the United States. He was at Real Madrid at the time and they were up against Chelsea in 2013.
Ronaldo had scored a brace in the game, as Los Blancos won 3-1 to claim the International Champions Cup.
Speaking on YouTube Channel 'Soccer.com,' the five-time Ballon d’Or winner said:
''Well I was in the USA and we play against Chelsea and I don’t know where it came from, the celebration. I just scored the goal and I did this, I did 'Yeaah' so like 'Siuuu.' But it was natural to be honest, it was natural. And since that I start to do it and I feel the supporters and the fans like when they see me they’re like: 'Cristiano, Siuuu!' And I was like 'Wow!' People remember Cristiano because of the Siuu. So, I continued like that.''

"It seems to have grown into its own global phenomenon - and I love when I see other players doing it, or people send me videos of people in other sports doing it or little kids doing it - it's great.''
He added:
"It means 'Yes' - very simple but meaning it strongly!"
