Al-Nassr talisman Cristiano Ronaldo achieved a new milestone following his brace against Al-Gharafa in the AFC Champions League on Monday, November 25. The Portuguese star extended his career goal tally to 913 and has now scored 450 goals since he turned 30.

Despite being in the twilight years of his career, Cristiano Ronaldo has continued to strut his stuff at Al-Nassr. In the ongoing season, the Portuguese icon has already notched up 13 goals and provided three assists for the Knights of Najd in 17 appearances across competitions. Ronaldo scored in Al-Nassr’s last match against Al-Qadsiah in the Saudi Pro League, but it was only a consolation goal as they fell to a 1-2 defeat.

Going into today’s match, Al-Nassr were eager to bounce back from the defeat. Ronaldo was denied the opportunity to give his side the lead in the first half. Sadio Mane was initially adjudged to have been fouled by defender Matias Nani in the penalty area. However, referee Shaun Evans reviewed the incident and overturned his decision, and the score remained level at the break.

Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for his side in the 46th minute. The Portugal skipper found himself unmarked and headed home Sultan Al-Ghannam’s cross. Angelo Gabriel doubled their advantage in the 58th minute.

Eight minutes later, Ronaldo extended Al-Nassr’s lead to three goals. He received a pass from Angelo Gabriel in the opposition box before curling a right-footed shot into the far corner.

Former Real Madrid striker Joselu scored for Al-Gharafa in the 75th minute, but they couldn't do enough to change the outcome of the game.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr are still fighting for titles this season

Despite their recent setback in the Saudi Pro League, Al-Nassr are still in contention to win the double this season. Their victory over Al-Gharafa on Monday has seen them move to the second position in Group B.

They have one more point than rivals Al-Hilal, who have a game in hand. Stefano Pioli’s men have secured 13 points from five games in the AFC Champions League. After starting their campaign with a draw, the Knights of Najd have won four games in a row.

Al-Hilal failed to capitalize on Al-Nassr's slip-up in the Saudi Pro League as they suffered a 3-2 defeat against Al-Khaleej. However, Al-Ittihad won their league game and rose to the top of the league table. Al-Nassr trail the league leaders by eight points.
