Manchester United fans have pointed out how Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo wasn't sent off for a foul that mirrored the one Marcus Rashford was given his marching orders.

The Merseysiders were taking on Toulouse in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday (November 9) night. Endo perhaps got away with one as he inadvertently stamped on Dutch forward Thijs Dallinga during the first half.

The Japan international didn't receive a red card but rather a booking for the foul. This didn't go down well with Manchester United fans who'd witnessed Rashford get sent off for an extremely similar incident.

The Red Devils went down to 10 men against FC Copenhagen on Wednesday while 2-0 ahead. Their English forward was handed the second red card of his career for a studs challenge on Danish left-back Elias Jelert.

Erik ten Hag's side ended up losing that game 4-3, leaving their hopes of advancing to the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League in jeopardy. There has been mass debate about whether Rashford was rightly sent off or not.

Fans have used Endo's foul in their argument against the England international receiving a red card. One fan uploaded a video of the Liverpool midfielder's foul with the caption:

"So this just happened in the Liverpool game but no red card, same incident Rashford got a red card for yesterday. Different rules for Manchester United."

Here's how fans on X (formerly Twitter) reacted to Endo escaping a red card:

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher slammed Rashford's sending off in Manchester United's defeat to Copenhagen

Jamie Carragher hit out at the decision to send Rashford off in Manchester United's loss to Copenhagen. The Liverpool icon alluded to the pictures the referee was shown on the pitchside monitor after being advised to review the incident by VAR. He wrote on X:

"No way is that a red card for Rashford! Hate these slow motion replays & still images that make everything look 10 times worse."

Ten Hag took the same view as Carragher, insisting that the red card changed the game:

"The red card changes everything. I think when you freeze frame it, it always looks so much worse, and as I say, it takes them so long, and they make a red card of it."

It remains to be seen whether Manchester United will appeal the red card decision. Rashford is set to miss his side's trip to Galatasaray on November 29 as things stand.
