Liverpool fans on X have slammed Trent Alexander-Arnold for his poor defending as the Reds were held to a 2-2 draw by Fulham in their Premier League clash. The two sides locked horns at Anfield on Saturday, December 14.
Alexander-Arnold failed to track Antonee Robinson's run in the 11th minute which led to the latter crossing the ball into the path of Andreas Pereira. The Brazilian's finish deflected off Andy Robertson, past a helpless Alisson Becker to give Fulham the lead. Liverpool's nightmare start continued as Robertson was sent off for a poor last-man challenge on Harry Wilson six minutes later.
Despite being down to 10 men, the Reds rallied in the second half and leveled the scores via Cody Gakpo's 47th-minute diving header. However, Robinson took full advantage of Alexander-Arnold's poor defending to burst forward and assist Rodrigo Muniz to give his side the lead (76'). Fortunately for Liverpool, Diogo Jota came off the bench to secure his side a point with an excellent finish in the 86th minute.
Alexander-Arnold wasn't great going forward either as he only completed one cross from seven attempts with a success rate of 14 percent. He also won zero tackles, made zero interceptions, and failed to track his runners effectively.
