Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has shared his thoughts on working with manager Arne Slot at Anfield this season. The Egyptian forward has been in impeccable form for the Reds in the ongoing campaign, helping them reach the summit of the Premier League and UEFA Champions League tables.
Jurgen Klopp was a fan-favorite at Anfield during his nine years in charge of Liverpool, leading the side to multiple titles, including the Premier League and UEFA Champions League. His exit at the end of the 2023-24 season and replacement with Arne Slot brought about a lot of uncertainty among the Reds faithful.
Salah recently revealed to TNT Sports what working with Slot felt like after his terrific start to life under the Dutch manager. He said he never expected the former Feyenoord manager to be 'this good' and praised him for his willingness to correct his mistakes without allowing his ego to get the better of him.
“Before I worked with Arne Slot, I didn’t expect he was this good… then we started working and I’m not surprised at all. He’s great with details, great with small things, doesn’t have ego when he makes a mistake… he’s great on tactics," Salah said (via Fabrizio Romano's X handle).
Despite being embroiled in an ongoing contract negotiation, Mohamed Salah has been hugely productive for Liverpool this season. The 32-year-old has scored 17 goals and provided 13 assists in just 18 league appearances for the Reds, leading the league in both metrics. He has also recorded two goals and four assists in six appearances in the Champions League for his side.
Arne Slot appears to be leading Liverpool to a league title this season. They have a six-point gap over second-placed Arsenal, who have played one game more. The Reds will look to drive home their advantage in the second half of the season, and Salah will feature prominently in those plans.
Liverpool youngster likened to Mohamed Salah wins Championship gong
Teenage Liverpool star Ben Doak, who has been likened to Mohamed Salah, has been named the Young Player of the Month for November in the Championship. The 19-year-old is on loan at Middlesbrough, where he plays under former Manchester United star Michael Carrick.
Scotland international Doak has been a key player for Boro this season, helping them reach fifth in the Championship standings. The youngster has two goals and five assists in 20 league appearances for the second-division side this season.
Doak is a highly-rated prospect at Liverpool, having made his senior debut aged just 16, and is the youngest Scottish player to appear in a Premier League game. The teenager has been tipped for a first-team place in the 2025-26 season and could be the club's replacement for Mohamed Salah.
