Fans were unimpressed with Joško Gvardiol's performance in Manchester City's clash against Leicester City in the Premier League. The match ended in a 2-0 win for Pep Guardiola's side on December 29 at King Power Stadium.

Savinho opened the scoring for Manchester City with a left-footed shot from a difficult angle in the 21st minute. Erling Haaland doubled the lead for the visitors with a header after being set up by Savinho in the 74th minute.

During his 90 minutes on the pitch, Gvardiol, who played in the left-back position, was unable to make an impact. He had 82 touches while maintaining a pass accuracy of 94%. The 22-year-old made one error that led to a shot and lost possession five times. He won 1/2 ground duels and made five clearances.

Fans criticized Joško Gvardiol on social media for his display in Manchester City's 2-0 win over Leicester City in the Premier League.

One fan wrote:

"Take Gvardiol out man, that guy doesn't want to be on a football pitch right now."

Another added:

"Gvardiol is truly of form 🤐#LEIMCI"
"Gvardiol really needs to only play CB and stop dribbling with it. Cant keep it and keeps putting us in awful scenarios." chimed in another fan.

One account posted:

"Is it me or Gvardiol is kinda reckless with his passing?"

Another tweeted:

"Gvardiol is a bit of a liability these days..... city need to sign an actual f%#*+>k LB and put him as a CH.....a wins a win"
"We need a cb/lb player asap. Cheeky bid for Gvardiol anyone?" posted another.

One user wrote:

"We actually played really good ... especially rico, foden and savio...Gvardiol needs competition in that lb because he's becoming ass"

While another wrote:

"GVARDIOL IS subjecting us to TERRIBLE RISK severally.. HAALAND is wasting plenty of CHANCES AND EXHAUSTING KDB so much with his WASTED CHANCES"

Joško Gvardiol has contributed to eight clean sheets in 28 appearances across competitions for Manchester City this season while registering four goals.

Pep Guardiola claims Manchester City have 'no chance' of winning the Premier League this season

Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola shared his thoughts on his squad's 2-0 win against Leicester City in their 19th Premier League clash of the season. The Catalan manager labeled the victory, which came after four winless league games, as more of a relief and told Sky Sports (via ESPN):

"It is not enjoyable right now, it is just relief. We have done incredible things for many years. It is not the best."

Manchester City maintained possession of 46% against Leicester City while having five shots on target. However, despite the victory, Guardiola seemed to have lost hope that his squad would lift the Premier League trophy this season. The 53-year-old told the BBC:

"We can not sustain for 90 minutes, today we proved that again. [We can] clear our minds now by getting results. We are far away from winning the Premier League. We accept there's already no chance of that but we have other things to fight for. FA Cup, top four and winning games helps."

Manchester City are fifth in the Premier League table with 31 points, while Liverpool are on top with 45 points in 18 matches. The clash against Leicester City marked Pep Guardiola's 500th match at Etihad as the manager.
