Manchester United fans have voiced their concern following Diogo Dalot's inclusion in the starting XI for the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Red Devils travel to Molineux on Thursday, December 26, to face Wolves in the Premier League.
Ruben Amorim's team arrives at the game on a run of two defeats across competitions. The optimism from the 2-1 victory against Manchester City earlier this month is long gone, with Manchester United still 13th in the league table.
Amorim made two changes to the team that lost 3-0 to Bournemouth, with Rasmus Hojlund coming in for Joshua Zirkzee and Tyrell Malacia making way for Leny Yoro. That means that Dalot is all set to operate in the left-back position once again.
Fans soon took to social media to express their views following the news. One pointed out that it is hard to believe that Diogo Dalot continues to start for Manchester United, commenting:
"Can’t believe dalot keeps starting."
Another added:
"I don’t understand what Amorim sees in Dalot, he’s fkn rubbish"
Another insisted that the Red Devils are not a serious club, stating:
"Dalot again?? omdsss we aren't a serious club"
Another quipped:
"Why dalot always"
Another posted:
"Another day, another game and more of Dalot. SMH.FML"
Dalot has registered two assists from 27 games across competitions, all but one of which were starts. His contract at Old Trafford runs until 2028.
When did Marcus Rashford last start for Manchester United?
Marcus Rashford hasn't been in Manchester United's Matchday squad for four games running. The Englishman appears to have fallen out of favor under Ruben Amorim and remains heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford.
Rashford last started for the Red Devils against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League earlier this month. His last appearance for Manchester United in the Premier League was off the bench against Nottingham Forest.
Interestingly, Rashford has scored three goals from five appearances across competitions under Amorim. The 27-year-old hasn't been in his element of late and has scored just seven goals and three assists from 24 games.
Recent reports have suggested that the Red Devils are willing to let him go in 2025. There's interest in the player's services from Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, as well as the Middle East.
However, it has been suggested that the player wants to join the Catalans if he leaves the Premier League giants. Rashford's contract at Old Trafford expires in 2028.
