Sporting CP thrashed Manchester City 4-1 in Ruben Amorim's final UEFA Champions League game in charge of the Portuguese champions, drawing reactions from fans. Amorim is set to take over as manager of Manchester United.
The 39-year-old was appointed as the replacement for Erik ten Hag, who was sacked last week, at Old Trafford. His first game in charge of the Red Devils will be against Ipswich Town on November 24
Sporting's game against Manchester City was made all the more significant by Amorim joining the Premier League champions' city rivals. His Sporting side showed why they have a 100 percent win record in the Portuguese league this season with a brilliant performance against City.
Manchester City were blown away in the second half at the Estadio Jose Alvalade. Fans took to X to share their opinions on the incoming Manchester United manager and Sporting's display against City.

A fan pointed out the struggles of Manchester City in recent weeks of the season.

Sporting CP continued their unbeaten run in the new-look group phase of the UEFA Champions League. The win over City took them to 10 points from their opening four games, courtesy of three wins and a draw.

Sporting CP handed a lesson to Manchester City as Ruben Amorim led his side to a 4-1 win in front of their fans.
The Cityzens took the lead through Phil Foden in the fourth minute. The Portuguese giants took a while to get going, only finding an equalizer in the 38th minute via Viktor Gyokeres.
The second half was different for both sides, with the hosts scoring two quick goals through Maximiliano Araujo (46') and a Gyokeres penalty (49'). The Swedish striker completed his hat-trick in the 80th minute with another penalty after Erling Haaland had missed one for City in the 69th minute.
