West Ham's move for Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be in trouble. According to Football Insider, Serie A side Inter Milan are looking to swoop in for the 26-year-old.
The report claims that while the Hammers have offered around £10 million, the Red Devils are looking to receive offers in the range of £18 million. This difference in valuation has caused a delay in the deal, allowing the Nerazzurri to enter the race.
Wan-Bissaka reportedly prefers a move abroad rather than staying in England, making the prospect of playing for the Serie A champions more intriguing. He joined Manchester United for a reported £45 million after an excellent stint with Crystal Palace.
However, he has fallen below Diogo Dalot in the pecking order under Erik ten Hag. Their further links with Bayern Munich's Noussair Mazraoui means that an exit for the Englishman looks more likely.
With just a year left on his current deal, the Red Devils are keen on cashing him on in right now instead of losing him on a free next season. Wan-Bissaka made 30 appearances across all competitions last campaign, bagging three assists.
Manchester United continue talks after ambitious double bid for Bayern Munich duo
Manchester United are still in talks with Bayern Munich after their stunning initial double bid for Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui was rejected by the German club. According to The Athletic's David Ornstein, the Red Devils are keen on bolstering their back four by adding the pair.
The report further claims that both players were informed that they were out of Bayern's plans. However, they have still turned down United's bid, insisting that their valuation had not been met.
Both players are reportedly keen on the move to Old Trafford, having already worked under Erik ten Hag at Ajax. They have already agreed on terms with Manchester United on a five-year deal with an option to extend by a further year.
The Dutchman made 30 appearances for the Bavarian side last season, scoring twice and setting up one more. The Moroccan, meanwhile, featured 29 times, bagging four assists.
Defence has been identified as a priority for Manchester United in this window, having shipped in 58 goals in just 38 league games last season. They have already added budding French star Leny Yoro in a reported €62 million deal from Lille. However, he suffered an injury in pre-season that is set to keep him out of action for three months, leading United to pursue other targets.
