Cristiano Ronaldo has been criticized by Indian doctor Cyriac Abby Phillips, who is known as "TheLiverDoc" on social media platform X. This comes after the legendary Portuguese striker made a social media post to promote the controversial multi-level marketing corporation Herbalife.
On November 7, Ronaldo posted pictures of himself in a kitchen, where he was making a Herbalife breakfast mixture. He shared the pictures with the caption:
"A good way to start the day? A healthy breakfast. Herbalife Formula 1 delivers a balanced mix of protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals."
Dr. Cryiac Abby Phillips did not take kindly to Ronaldo's decision to promote Herbalife products, slamming the striker with a post on social media that said:
"Herbalife is a multilevel marketing pyramid scheme company which manufactures low-quality mixed protein made from pea and soy and includes other dangerous botanicals, all the while charging consumers like they're selling Swarovski diamonds."
The doctor continued, pointing to the company's history in contributing to liver injury and failure:
"Herbalife products are also, infamously associated with the highest documented liver injury and liver failure cases in the world among all protein supplements."
The doctor finished by questioning Cristiano Ronaldo's advert:
"Ronaldo may or may not know this, but his breakfast definitely DOES NOT involve Herbalife products and this is just a paid (I wonder how much!) promotion for the company...
"Because even the people you place high on a high pedestal are sometimes deprived of ethics and morality when it comes to healthcare and health literacy when money talks."
Dr. Phillips went on to include a series of web pages that included fines Herbalife has paid to resolve fraud and corruption. He also added links to research revealing the toxicity levels from Herbalife products in his post.
Cristiano Ronaldo could leave Al-Nassr for Saudi Arabian rivals
As per reports, Cristiano Ronaldo could potentially leave A-Nassr for Saudi Arabian rivals Al-Hilal in the upcoming winter transfer window. The legendary forward joined Al-Nassr in January 2023 but he has struggled to win trophies, clinching only the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023.
Al-Hilal have been his bane so far. They have won more trophies since he moved to Saudi Arabia, including the Saudi Pro League, the King Cup, and the Saudi Super Cup.
Now, the Portugal international could potentially join the winning side, according to reports from SPORT (via GOAL). Al-Hilal are prepared to let go of Neymar, after the Brazilian's consistent injury issues, and they are contemplating a move for Cristiano Ronaldo as his replacement.
Time will tell if the 39-year-old does agree to switch sides in the Saudi league.
