On loan-Liverpool midfielder Arthur Melo has described what Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar have in common.
The Juventus star, currently on a season-long loan with Liverpool, has had the privilege of sharing the pitch with all three players. Arthur was a teammate of Lionel Messi at Barcelona while he played with Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus and has been Neymar's teammate for the Brazil national team.
The flamboyant midfielder has claimed that all three of them share a winning mentality that sets them apart from the rest. He told GOAL:
“They have a winning mentality. Whether it’s a training session, a friendly or a final, the three always go out to kill. Even if they play against their mother, they don’t care.”
Arthur also hailed Neymar's unmatched ability on the ball and Cristiano Ronaldo's ability to find the back of the net. The Brazilian also described Lionel Messi as an alien. He added:
“Their mentality is tremendous. Neymar is skilled, he feints, he dribbles… Cristiano scores a goal wherever he is, he scores a goal wherever he goes because he has incredible ability…"
"And Messi, well, Messi is an ET. An alien. One thing out of the ordinary. I had the opportunity to play with all three and see them up close. Each one with their characteristics, some dribble more or finish better but I prefer their mentality. All three are out of the ordinary in that regard.”
Arthur joined Liverpool from Juventus last summer on a season-long loan with an option to buy. However, he has not been able to break into the Liverpool side due to his persistent injury problems, managing just 13 minutes of playing time.
The former Barcelona midfielder has announced that he is set to return to Juventus at the end of the season with Liverpool not exercising the option to sign him permanently.
Cristiano Ronaldo's ex-Real Madrid teammate chooses PSG superstar Lionel Messi over him in GOAT debate
Cristiano Ronaldo's former Real Madrid teammate Mesut Ozil recently claimed that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) superstar Lionel Messi is currently ahead of the Portuguese superstar.
Ozil, who shared phenomenal chemistry with Ronaldo on the pitch, has picked Lionel Messi ahead of the former Real Madrid star because of the Argentine's World Cup triumph. He said: (via a Messi fanpage named Team Leo's Twitter):
"It's a difficult question... but I will choose Messi because he won the World Cup."
Recently, Cristiano Ronaldo also didn't name Ozil when he was asked to pick the best XI consisting of his former teammates.
