Real Madrid attacker Jude Bellingham reacted after ending his goal drought in the 4-0 La Liga home win over Osasuna on Saturday (November 9). The 21-year-old opened his account for the season in his 13th appearance across competitions.
In 12 previous games, the Euro 2024 runner-up had notched up three assists in 12 outings across competitions, including a solitary assist in seven outings in La Liga, where Los Blancos are six points behind leaders Barcelona.
With Carlo Ancelotti's side looking to snap a two-game losing run across competitions, Bellingham produced one of his best performances of the season. After assisting Vinicius Junior's 34th-minute opener at the Santiago Bernabeu, the 21-year-old got on the scoresheet 11 minutes later as Los Blancos led 2-0 at the break.
Following his outing, Bellingham posted a message on Instagram story, as tweeted by Madrid Xtra:
"Even in sh*t times, giving up is not an option. Madridistas, thank you for your incredible support in the good times and the bad ones. #HalaMadrid"
Before the Osasuna outing, Bellingham's three goal contributions came in La Liga, UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup respectively, with Carlo Ancelotti's side winning all three matches.
How has Jude Bellingham fared for Real Madrid so far?
Jude Bellingham enjoyed a spectacular debut season with Real Madrid since arriving last summer from Borussia Dortmund. In 42 outings across competitions, he notched up 23 goals and 13 assists.
That included 19 goals and six assists in 28 outings in La Liga, where Los Blancos won a record-extending 36th title. Bellingham also made a mark in the UEFA Champions League, which Carlo Ancelotti's side won for a record-extending 15th time, contributing four goals and five assists in 11 games. He produced an assist in two games in Madrid's victorious Supercopa Espana campaign as well.
However, the Englishman took 13 games to open his account this season. His record for the club now stands at 24 goals and 17 assists in 55 games across competitions.
With Bellingham failing to replicate his last-season heroics so far, Los Blancos find themselves six points behind leaders Barcelona (33) after 12 games. They are 18th in the UEFA Champions League after four games, losing twice, most recently suffering a 3-1 home defeat to AC Milan in midweek.
Following the international break, Bellingham and Co. return to La Liga action at Leganes on Sunday, November 24.
