Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has suggested a new target for Cristiano Ronaldo after he crossed the 900-goal mark in his career. The Portugal captain scored his 900th and 901st career goals in his national side's recent UEFA Nations League wins against Croatia and Scotland, respectively.

Saha played alongside the legendary striker at Old Trafford for four years following his arrival from Fulham for €17.5 million in 2004. He played 124 times for the Red Devils, scoring 42 goals and providing 16 assists. The duo took to the pitch together 95 times and combined for seven goals.

Speaking on Betfred about what comes next for his legendary ex-teammate, the Frenchman said (via GOAL):

“I could wish for him to score 1000 goals or even 1100 goals because Cristiano deserves all the respect and everyone that follows the sport should want this guy to fulfil his dreams because for kids wanting to be athletes, he’s the biggest inspiration you can have. 900 goals is a massive achievement already and what he’s done is unbelievable.
"To Cristiano, 900 goals means a lot and every time he scores goals, it’s like he’s won the World Cup.”

Cristiano Ronaldo is currently playing for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia following his contentious exit from Manchester United in 2022. He has bagged 62 goals and 17 assists for Al Nasse in 68 appearances.

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha hails Cristiano Ronaldo's scoring record

Cristiano Ronaldo's former Manchester United teammate Louis Saha hailed his former teammate's scoring record after the latter's 900th career goal. Speaking to Betfred, the former striker praised Ronaldo's drive, saying (via GOAL):

"I wish the best for Cristiano. He has a vision and he’s an inspiration for any kid. You need to understand, if you score 300 goals in your career then that means you’re a top, top goalscorer, so for him to hit 900 is unbelievable. Kylian Mbappe currently has just under 350 to his name and that’s also unbelievable."

The former Manchester United striker concluded, saying:

"The guy is just obsessed with contributing to his team and whatever he aims to do, he’ll do whatever he can to achieve it. If he feels as if he needs to go to the World Cup in 2026 and win it, then that’s what he’ll try and do and the tournament is not too far away.”

Cristiano Ronaldo recently scored his 901st career goal and will be hoping to add more to his tally before he finally hangs up his boots.
