Former Juventus forward Douglas Costa has stated that Cristiano Ronaldo is addicted to scoring goals following Al-Nassr's 3-1 comeback win over Al Akhdoud on Thursday, January 9. The Portuguese converted a penalty, while Sadio Mane scored a brace to help their team go up to third in the Saudi Pro League table.
Al-Nassr went behind in the sixth minute of the game before Mane leveled the score in the 29th minute. CR7 sent his team ahead three minutes before the break, completing an impressive turnaround. Mane scored his second of the night in the 88th minute to put the game to bed.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been in fine form for the Riyadh-based club this season, registering 17 goals and three assists from 20 games across competitions. Following Thursday's win, the Portuguese posted pictures of his celebration the goal, with the following caption:
"Best way to start the year"
The post went viral, and former Juventus teammate Douglas Costa responded with a comment, stating:
"Addicted to scoring goals"
Cristiano Ronaldo shared the pitch with Douglas Costa on 50 occasions during their time together for the Bianconeri. They won 34 games, lost eight for the Serie A giants, and contributed two goals together. That partnership was broken when CR7 left Juventus in the summer of 2021 to move to Manchester United.
How many goals has Cristiano Ronaldo scored for Juventus?
Cristiano Ronaldo joined Juventus in the summer of 2018 after ending his stay with Real Madrid. The Portuguese superstar arrived at Turin as one of the best players in the world, fresh from winning the Champions League with Los Blancos.
CR7 went on to appear 134 times for the Bianconeri, scoring 101 goals and setting up 22 more. He won five trophies with Juventus; two the Serie A titles, two Supercoppa Italiana and one Coppa Italia.
However, Ronaldo failed to guide the Bianconeri to the coveted Champions League title. He left Turin in the summer of 2021, with Manchester United agreeing a €23m fee for the Portuguese.
Unfortunately, CR7's secondcoming at Old Trafford didn't live up to expectations and he left the club in December 2022 to join Al-Nassr. Since the move, the 39-year-old has lit up the Middle East, bringing the Saudi Pro League to the world stage.
Ronaldo has registered 75 goals and 18 assists from 84 games across competitions so far for the Riyadh-based club. However, his contract expires in six months.
