Fans reacted on X (formerly Twitter) after former Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina joined newly-promoted Serie A side Como. The Italian side continued their work in the transfer market as they look to navigate a first season in the Italian top flight.
Former Spain international Reina became the latest addition to the Como squad following their return to the Serie A for the first time in 21 years. The 41-year-old goalkeeper has signed a one-year deal and will serve as their back-up goalkeeper for the 2024-25 season.
Co-owned by Premier League legend Cesc Fabregas, Como have managed to sway some of Europe's biggest free agents this summer. The Italian side have signed striker Andrea Belotti and have been linked with moves for the French duo of Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial.
The club are also reportedly closing in on the capture of goalkeeper Pau Lopez from Olympique Marseille with some reports linking them with Memphis Depay as well.

Pepe Reina last played for Villarreal in La Liga and will be reunited with former international teammate Fabregas at Como. Fabregas is the side's head coach, having spent the final part of his playing career at the Italian outfit.
Liverpool eyeing move for Premier League star - Reports
Liverpool are plotting a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Rayan Ait-Nouri, according to CaughtOffside. The Reds are keen to add a new left-back to their squad at the request of manager Arne Slot.
Ait-Nouri has impressed during his time at Wolves and is on the radar of multiple clubs in the Premier League this season, including Chelsea and Manchester City. The report states that Liverpool will decide whether or not to sign the Algerian international this summer by July 27.
Liverpool will have to part ways with around £38 million to sign Ait-Nouri this summer, and would have to move quickly to get the defender in their pre-season tour squad. The Reds are aware that the 23-year-old is open to moving away from the Molineux this season, and have him as a long-term target.
