Real Madrid star Fede Valverde heaped praise on teammate Arda Guler. The Uruguayan suggested that the Turkish youngster was an incredible player who was still far from his full potential.
The midfielder was asked a question about Guler on The Residency app, where he said:
Q: "How do you get along with Arda and what do you think of him?"
A: "I get along really well! As long as Brahim translates me. He's an incredible player, and we still saw 30% of what he is"
Guler was one of the hottest prospects in Europe after a splendid 2022-23 season with Turkish side Fenerbahce. With many teams clamouring for his signature, Real Madrid eventually came on top, signing him for a reported fee of €20 million.
After suffering an injury early in the campaign, the 19-year-old struggled to get regular playing time. He shone towards the end of the season, scoring six goals in his last five league appearances.
Cesc Fabregas opens up on Real Madrid fans' mentality
Former Barcelona and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas pointed out the role of fans in Real Madrid's continued success. The Spanish legend, who is currently the manager of Italian side Como, claimed that the calmness of the supporters and their belief in the team were key factors.
In an interview with Spanish outlet AS, he said:
“Why Real Madrid are dominating in Europe? I recently commented on the calmness and the way the team and the fans manage their emotions at the Bernabéu.
"The fans have become used to knowing how to suffer at critical moments because they understand that at some point something special can happen. But that is not the only thing that makes them win, far from it.
"Real Madrid is a club that is expected to win or do very well in the Champions League. In addition, they have and have had some great players.”
It was yet another successful season for Los Blancos, who won La Liga and the Champions League. It was a breeze for Carlo Ancelotti's side on the domestic front, winning La Liga by 10 points over second-placed Barcelona.
They had moments of magic to fire them to their 15th UCL triumph as well, notably including a late brace from Joselu in the second leg of the semifinals against Bayern Munich after they were down 3-2 on aggregate.
