Football pundit Darren Bent has urged Arsenal to sign a versatile forward instead of Chelsea target and Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak. They believe the Gunners need someone who can operate in multiple positions and not just as a center forward.

Speaking on Premier League productions, Bent stated that Arsenal need more than just a center forward. He added that they need to bring in a player who can operate across the frontline and said:

"I think now of a sudden you're looking around to see who's going to be perfect. You might have to find someone who is a little bit more versatile, that can play centre forward, can play left, can play right, just to add goals. But I think if you're quite narrow-minded and go, 'right, we want one centre forward for this position', how many are out there? How many of those type of centre forwards can you got and get?"

Arsenal are said to be keen on signing a striker in January as they look to challenge Liverpool for the Premier League title. They are facing competition from Chelsea, while Newcastle United have slapped a £150 million price tag on the Swedish striker.

Arsenal told to go out and sign players in January by former Chelsea player

Former Arsenal and Chelsea star Emmanuel Petit has urged Arsenal to add reinforcements in the January window. He admitted that it would be hard to find the right fit for a reasonable price but believes that they need quality in attack to challenge for the title. He said:

"Maybe they can sign players in the transfer window. It's very hard, as Guardiola said, to get top players at this moment but you never know, there are some players available, actually, outside England, so maybe, why not? Someone up front but I think they need quality players, when I look at the squad at Liverpool they look so strong, especially up front, they have so many talents, so many options, and the spine of the team has been playing for ages altogether.
"They look so happy to play together, the joy they bring on the pitch, I watched the game against [Leicester] when they conceded the first goal and won 3-1, it was lovely to watch them, the joy they have, the link between the players, I look at the squad and look at the bench, for me there is a difference with Arsenal."

However, Petit stated that the Gunners can 'forget' about signing Isak as he would not move. He also believes that the striker would solve the attacking issues for Mikel Arteta.
