Football pundit Gary Lineker has picked Liverpool over Chelsea and Arsenal as the winner of the Premier League title race this season. The Merseysiders are currently looking unstoppable across all competitions, having lost only one game throughout the season.

Fans predicted them to suffer a wobble after Jurgen Klopp was replaced by former Feyenoord boss Arne Slot at the start of the season. However, the Dutch tactician has taken The Reds to another level across all competitions.

Currently, The Reds are at the summit of the Premier League table with 45 points in 18 games. Their closest rivals are Nottingham Forest (37), who have surprised everyone with their brilliant form under Nuno Espirito Santo. Arsenal (36) and Chelsea (35) make up the top four.

Chelsea were tipped to struggle this season under newly appointed Enzo Maresca, but have surprised everyone with their performances. They have lost only three games in the Premier League and have won all six games in the Conference League so far. Meanwhile, Arsenal have suffered from several injury setbacks this season, but are there in the title race.

Discussing the Premier League title race on The Rest Is Football podcast after The Reds humbled West Ham 5-0 on December 29, Gary Lineker waxed lyrical about The Reds.

"They were very impressive again. They’ve got a big lead now. Nottingham Forest are second which is an extraordinary effort. I honestly can’t see anyone getting near Liverpool now, can you? They’re unstoppable now I think," he said.

Premier League legend Alan Shearer agreed with Lineker, saying:

"Liverpool have been brilliant, they’re so strong in every position. They’ve got so many options. They’re really, really strong and it’s hard to look at anyone else but Liverpool. It’s theirs to chuck away now."

After the New Year, Slot's side will be back to face a struggling Manchester United on January 5 at Anfield.

Owen Hargreaves reveals the "biggest" reason why he thinks Chelsea and Arsenal won't catch Liverpool in the PL title race

Former English midfielder and football pundit Owen Hargreaves recently opined on the Premier League title race between Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool. During a discussion on Premier League Productions (h/t Empire of the Kop), the former Manchester City player opened up on the title race.

According to him, Chelsea and Arsenal won't catch up with The Reds in the Premier League standings this season. He explained:

"The biggest thing for me is the reason Arsenal and Chelsea won’t win it, they don’t have any experience like Liverpool. Alisson, Van Dijk, Trent, Robertson, Salah – you’ve got five guys who have been there and done it, as Mo said for years."
"This Liverpool team is perfectly set up, they’ve got a real mix of young players, a brilliant front three but actually, because they can play different every game, they’re going to be hard to stop."

The last time The Reds won the Premier League was in the 2019-20 season under the tutelage of Jurgen Klopp.
