Madridistas were left unhappy with coach Carlo Ancelotti's treatment of Jude Bellingham in Real Madrid's 2-1 win over Celta de Vigo in LaLiga on Saturday, October 19. The Englishman is considered one of the most important players in the current Los Blancos squad.

Real Madrid continued their 42-game unbeaten streak in LaLiga following their win over Celta Vigo. Goals from Kylian Mbappe (20') and Vinicius Jr (66') led them to victory, with Williot Swedberg scoring (51') for the hosts. Bellingham did not score or assist in the game.

Taking to X after Real Madrid's 2-1 win over Celta Vigo, fans criticized Ancelotti's treatment of Bellingham. Many claimed he was overused and running too much on the pitch during the game.

One user wrote:

"The way Ancelotti is using Bellingham is terrible. He’s everywhere on the pitch, covering up for others and not only is it exhausting him but he’s rarely rested so the situation worsens. With everything he offers we’re completely misusing him it’s actually horrible to watch."
"Bellingham runs for days and sacrifices himself for the 2 clowns up top and gets nothing in return," another fan opined.
"We need to start appreciating Bellingham's work rate cos running up and down the pitch every game for 90 mins is insane," a netizen added.

Many fans appreciated Jude Bellingham's work-rate, claiming he covered up for his teammates' errors.

"The Bellingham display i saw today.... thats gotta be slavery. he was literally running endlessly all over the pitch, covering for everyones bullshit and he was beyond gassed out in the end and he still didn't sub him off."
"Said it before and I will say it again, when it comes to pure workrate I can't name anyone who comes close to Jude Bellingham. Absolute tank," a person mentioned.
"I don’t care about those who scored tonight.. Bellingham is my man of the match. He was everywhere on the pitch, everywhere," a user added.

Jude Bellingham has been a guaranteed starter for Real Madrid since his move from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022. The Englishman has started nine games across competitions this season, playing 789 minutes in total.

He missed four LaLiga fixtures due to a muscular injury. The midfielder has yet to score a goal this season but has registered two assists.

In the post-match press conference, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti spoke about playing Jude Bellingham in an unusual position.

"Bellingham's position was different, yes. We wanted to try him there and I liked him very much," the coach said via Madrid Xtra.

Jude Bellingham mostly played on the right wing against Celta Vigo; a position quite different from his usual roles as an attacking or central midfielder. The England international was seen linking up with Lucas Vazquez and assisting Mbappe and Vinicius in the attack.

In his debut season with Real Madrid, Jude Bellingham mostly played as an attacking midfielder. He was a prolific goalscorer for Los Blancos last season, finding the net 23 times and assisting 13 times in 42 games in all competitions. This was when the Spanish giants did not have a pure striker.

However, Kylian Mbappe's arrival this summer led Ancelotti to use Bellingham as a No. 9. Therefore, his role has shifted more into the central midfield.

However, he has rarely been used in the right-wing at Real Madrid, making it a different position for the English star.
