Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim shared his thoughts on Amad Diallo after the 22-year-old renewed his contract with the club. The winger's previous contract was set to expire at the end of the season with the option of triggering a 12-month extension clause.
On January 9, Diallo signed a new five-and-a-half-year contract, valid until the summer of 2030. After sealing the new deal with the Red Devils, the Ivory Coast international spoke about his ambitions at the club and said (via BBC Sport):
"I am really proud to have signed this new contract. I have had some incredible moments with this club already but there is so much more to come. I have huge ambitions in the game and I want to achieve history at Manchester United."
"It has been a difficult season for everyone, but I fully believe that we are on the right path and the future is going to be really special. I am ready to give everything to help the team and make our supporters proud again," added Diallo.
Amad Diallo has registered six goals and seven assists in 28 appearances across competitions for the Red Devils this season. Following his next contract at Old Trafford, Ruben Amorim spoke about the expectations from the Atalanta academy graduate. He said (via @UtdDistrict on X):
"We are going to be more demanding with Amad. He knows what we want to expect from him. Now he has a bigger responsibility because he has a long contract with a big club, so we're going to be really demanding with him."
Since his arrival at Old Trafford in 2021, Amad Diallo has appeared in 49 matches across competitions, scoring nine goals and providing the same number of assists for Manchester United.
