Barcelona star Fermin Lopez has insisted that Spain are relaxed ahead of their Paris Olympics gold medal clash against Thierry Henry's France. He claimed that the legendary Frenchman's presence does not intimidate them and they are ready to fight.
Speaking to MARCA, Lopez stated that Spain youngster were ready for the match against the hosts. He said:
"He doesn't impose on us. We are very relaxed about the match. We know it's a great stage against a great rival, but we hope to have a good game and a great final so we can win gold."
Lopez was a part of the Spain squad that won the EURO 2024 earlier this summer. He admitted that it would be a dream to complete the double. The Barcelona star added:
"It's a dream to win a double like that. Alex and I are very excited and looking forward to it. Let's see if it can happen. I adapt to whatever the team needs. Here I'm playing more, but there I was very happy with the role I had. Here I'm playing a bit more and I can help the team more."
Talking about the difference between the two Spanish camps, Lopez added:
"I would say that we are a family too. We have a great group of people in the dressing room. We help each other a lot on the pitch and you can see that in the matches. Yes, whatever happens, we have had a great tournament. I've enjoyed the experience and I hope I can put the icing on the cake."
While the Spanish men's side are battling for Gold against Thierry Henry's France, the women's side take on Germany in the Bronze medal match on Friday.
Barcelona legend Thierry Henry on Spain vs France

"I'm in a dream, quite simply, and it doesn't matter what happens in the Olympics final. But I'm a competitor, I want to win it. We have a beautiful country, when we decide to be together, we are unstoppable."
Thierry Henry's France have won all their matches at the Olympics this summer. They have conceded just one in the five games and scored 12 times.
On the other hand, Spain have won four and lost once. They lost 2-1 to Egypt in the group stage but managed to beat Morocco in the semifinal thanks to Barcelona's Lopez and Sevilla's Juanlu Sanchez's performances.
