Arsenal fans have blasted Leandro Trossard on X after he squandered a golden opportunity to win the game for the Gunners in their 1-1 draw against Chelsea. The two sides faced each other in their Premier League fixture at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, November 10.
Both sides evenly contested the first half with Malo Gusto narrowly missing the target from close range early on. Kai Havertz found the back of the net against his former club in the 32nd minute but his effort was ruled out due to an offside in the build-up.
Gabriel Martinelli broke the deadlock for Arsenal in the 60th minute with a good finish. However, Chelsea leveled the scores 10 minutes later when Pedro Neto blasted an unstoppable effort from range into the bottom corner.
Mikel Arteta subbed on Leandro Trossard in place of Martinelli as Arsenal searched for a winner. However, the Belgian had a cameo to forget as he blasted the ball over the goal despite having an open net to finish into in the 87th minute.
However, his biggest blunder occurred in the sixth and final minute of stoppage time when William Saliba whipped the ball across the face of goal. Just when it appeared as if Havertz would tap home to win the game for Arsenal, Trossard skewed the effort well side off target, denying the Gunners a winner.
