Dutch legend Marco van Basten recently slammed Marcus Rashford for his performance in Manchester United's FA Cup win over Coventry City on Sunday, April 21.

The Red Devils came out trumps on penalties in their semi-final clash against the eighth-placed Championship side. They took a 3-0 lead via Scott McTominay (23'), Harry Maguire (45+1'), and Bruno Fernandes (58'). However, the Sky Blues bounced back with two goals via Ellis Simms (71') and Callum O'Hare (79').

Aaron Wan-Bissaka then handled the ball in the penalty box, and Haji Wright converted the resultant penalty in the fifth minute of stoppage time. The game went into extra time where both sides hit the woodwork. Coventry then had a goal disallowed to a marginal offside call. Manchester United eventually won on penalties to set up a Manchester derby in the final.

Van Basten recently picked out Marcus Rashford's performance against Coventry, and said (via The European Lad):

"I saw Rashford play against Coventry. What was this guy doing? It was an unbelievable sight. Didn't make any runs, didn't try anything on the ball, passing every ball he received straight back. He looks like he is playing indoor football with his buddies."

Rashford completed 43/51 passes, made one key pass, completed 3/4 dribble attempts, and missed one big chance in the game. He was then subbed off in the 90th minute due to an apparent injury.

Erik ten Hag provides injury update on Marcus Rashford and Co. ahead of Manchester United vs Sheffield United

The Red Devils will next host bottom-placed Sheffield United in the Premier League on Wednesday, April 24. Ahead of the game, they have some injury concerns to the likes of Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho.

Manager Erik ten Hag provided an update on the Manchester United squad ahead of the game, saying in a press conference (via manutd.com):

"Yeah, so we had a problem with Garnacho, that's why we took him off during the game but I think he will be fine. Scott McTominay, we have to assess today. That is really doubtful.
"Marcus Rashford is also doubtful and then there was an issue with Bruno Fernandes, with the hand. But I think he can make it. So we have some doubts going into the game tomorrow."

Manchester United are on a run of five games without a win, with four draws and a defeat against Chelsea. They are seventh in the league standings, level on points with Newcastle United but behind on goal difference.
