Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has claimed that Rasmus Hojlund has a lot of room to improve, pointing out the striker's lack of patience in front of goal.
Hojlund, 21, has struggled to live up to his price tag since arriving from Serie A side Atalanta in a potential £72 million switch in the summer of 2023. He scored 16 goals and contributed two assists in 43 appearances across competitions in his first season at the Old Trafford outfit.
But, the 22-cap Denmark international has failed to build on his decent start to life at his club so far this season. The left-footed attacker has scored two goals in 13 Premier League outings for Manchester United in the ongoing 2024-25 campaign, while bagging five goals in six UEFA Europa League games.
Ahead of Manchester United's 2-0 Premier League loss at Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier this Thursday (December 26), Amorim shared his thoughts on the ex-Copenhagen star. The Portuguese said (h/t Tribal Football):
"He has the pace, is strong and can score goals. He scores a lot of difficult goals and that is a very important thing as a player. But he has a lot to improve. I think he is sometimes too eager to show everything because he is a young guy who wants this very much. In the future, we want to help Rasmus become a better player."
Hojlund is next likely to feature for Manchester United in a Premier League encounter against Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Monday (December 30).
Ex-Premier League star states he would love to see Manchester United ace at his former team
Of late, Marcus Rashford has emerged as a potential outgoing for Manchester United ahead of the January transfer window. The 26-year-old has been left out of the matchday squad in his side's last four games across competitions.
While discussing Rashford's future, former Tottenham Hotspur star Jamie O'Hara insisted that he would love to see the Englishman join Spurs. He told talkSPORT (h/t TBR):
"I'd snap your hand off for him. But I don't think he'd sign for us. I would love him at Spurs but I just don't think we'd be able to afford his wages. One of the big teams in Europe will have him. Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, someone will pay his wages, 100 per cent, [Paris Saint-Germain] PSG... he will go somewhere."
So far this campaign, Rashford has registered seven goals and four assists in 24 total games for the Ruben Amorim-coached outfit.
