Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has named Jude Bellingham, Vinicius, Rodrygo, and Kylian Mbappe as the players behind the club's improvement in recent weeks. Los Blancos were a bit inconsistent in the first half of the season, particularly in the UEFA Champions League.
However, Ancelotti's men are getting back to their best having won seven out of their last eight games across all competitions.
In a press conference after the 3-0 Supercopa de Espana semi-final win over Mallorca on January 9, Ancelotti lauded Bellingham for his consistency. He further praised three other Madrid players together with Bellingham for their ability to work as a team in attack. He said (via Madrid Universal):
"He means a lot. The team's improvement has come because they have combined more Bellingham, Vini Jr., Rodrygo, and Mbappé. Also because we have had a good balance with many strikers on the field."
In the La Liga 2024-25 campaign, Madrid are the league leaders having accumulated 43 points from 19 games. Despite their inconsistency in the Champions League, they have registered nine points from six games and are ranked 20th in the standings.
Having secured a spot in the final, Ancelotti's men will face Barcelona in the Supercopa de Espana final on Sunday, (January 12).
How have Vinicius, Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo, and Kylian Mbappe performed for Real Madrid this season?
Vinicius has arguably been one of Madrid's most-priced attacking assets in recent times. In 23 appearances, he has scored 13 goals and registered nine assists this season.
Meanwhile, Jude Bellingham has been consistent in midfield for Madrid and brilliant in attack. In 23 games, the Englishman has scored nine goals and provided seven assists.
Despite struggling with his fitness in recent weeks, Rodrygo's finishing has helped Los Blancos in securing crucial points. The Brazilian has netted six goals and registered four assists in 22 games this season.
Finally, after a rigorous start to life at Real Madrid, Mbappe is arguably returning to his best. The Frenchman has scored 13 goals and registered three assists in 26 games as Madrid's preferred striker this season.
The abovementioned players remain key for Ancelotti in the second half of the 2024-25 season. Real Madrid will next return to action at the Supercopa de Espana final against Barcelona on Sunday (January 12).
