Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher has claimed that Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has underperformed so far at Euro 2024. England have not been at their best in the Euros so far even though they still managed to win their group.

Gareth Southgate's side kicked off their Euro 2024 campaign with a narrow 1-0 win against Serbia. However, they could only salvage 1-1 and 0-0 draws against Denmark and Slovenia, respectively.

England has faced plenty of criticism for their lacklustre showings in the Euros, with several stars underperforming. Pundit Jamie Carragher has claimed that Bukayo Saka has flattered to deceive in the Euros so far.

Carragher wrote in his column for the Telegraph:

“Saka is outstanding for Arsenal. He has had minimal impact in the past two-and-a-half games. At what point do we take a step back and agree that the underperformance is as much about individuals as the tactics?”

Saka enjoyed a stellar season for Arsenal last time out, scoring 20 goals and providing 14 assists in 47 appearances across competitions. However, Mikel Arteta's side could only secure a second-placed finish for the second season in a row, losing out on the Premier League title to Manchester City.

Capped 36 times for England so far, the 22-year-old has been a key player in Gareth Southgate's setup. He has scored 11 times for the Three Lions so far while contributing with seven assists.

Former England defender turned TV pundit Rio Ferdinand has hailed Arsenal target Nico Williams for his exploits in Euro 2024. One of the most coveted players at the moment, Williams has no shortage of suitors with Mikel Arteta's side are reportedly chasing his signature.

Williams has been sensational for Spain in the Euros thus far and Ferdinand labelled as the 'best player of the round'. The ex-Manchester United defender said:

"The pace is electric. The pace is electric. I love him. I think he is the player of the round."

Willams was one of the best players in La Liga last season catching the eye of Europe's elites as a result. The fleet-footed winger scored eight goals and provided 19 assists in 37 appearances for Athletic Bilbao as they clinched the Copa del Rey.
