Gary Neville has hit out at Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne after he went down easily at Leicester City on Sunday (December 29). The pundit wasn't happy with De Bruyne's antics and called for the referee to book the Belgian.

De Bruyne went down in the box but didn't appeal for a penalty, yet Neville reckoned the midfielder was trying to deceive the referee as he said on Sky Sports:

"He went down too easily. You can tell, it was awkward the way he fell. You can see he dived from up here. He probably should be booked really, he has tired to con the referee. But I wasn't fully against one of my teammates diving, though"

City ended their five-game winless run across competitions with victory at relegation-threatened Leicester. Savinho scored the opening goal in the first half and assisted Erling Haaland for the second in the second half.

Boss Pep Guardiola relieved with Manchester City's win over Leicester City

Pep Guardiola said after the win at Leicester City that it was a much-needed win for Manchester City needed the win. He said that the 2-0 scoreline was a bit flattering:

"We needed it. All of us. It was not the ideal performance, but hopefully, the victories will give our mood a better position. It's important to win. It was tight, second half.
"We didn't have enough energy to sustain 90 minutes, but hopefully in the new year, we can bounce back a bit from a bad moment. For the result we have to do something. If you don't perform, the results won't come. Now, in the position we are in, the results are the most important thing to get points and help our minds."

Taling about the next games, he added:

"We have another game at home next and many good things happened today. Just relief, that is the word to express how all of us feel. We have done incredible things, and now we struggle to win games, so now it's just relief."

Manchester City are fifth in the league table, 14 behind leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand. The Cityzens are up against West Ham United next on January 4 before taking on Salford City in the FA Cup seven days later.
