Pundit Darren Bent has warned Arsenal against signing Barcelona target Kingsley Coman in the summer transfer window. The Gunners are seemingly looking to add firepower to their frontline and have identified the Bayern Munich winger as a potential option.
Coman, who can operate on either flank, could provide Gabriel Martinelli competition on the left wing while also serving as cover for Bukayo Saka on the right. However, Bent is of the opinion that the north Londoners mustn't be looking at options who are past their prime.
The 28-year-old has three years left on his deal at the Allianz Arena and isn't an integral part of the French national team. Speaking to talkSPORT, Bent said (via The Boot Room):
"He is probably on the decline now, do you know what I mean? Last year was the first year that he hadn't won a league title in his career. He is on the decline, but he is a very good player."
Last season, Coman started just 15 Bundesliga matches for his Bavarian employers, bagging three goals and assists each. The likes of Leroy Sane and Jamal Musiala are ahead of him for spots on either flank.
To date, Coman has played 294 matches across competitions for Bayern Munich, bagging 63 goals and 66 assists. He's won the Bundesliga on eight occasions while having lifted the UEFA Champions League once at the Allianz Arena.
A move to the Emirates would be tempting, given that Arsenal are set to challenge for the Premier League title this season and compete in the Champions League.
