AC Milan manager Sergio Conceicao has refused to rule out a January move for beleaguered Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford. The Englishman has been rumored to leave Old Trafford with transfer speculation linking him to various clubs, including the Rossoneri.

Now, those rumors have been fuelled after Conceicao confirmed that Milan are tracking the player's situation right now. The 27-year-old has another three years into his contract with United but recurring injuries and a loss of form have seen him fall down the pecking order at Old Trafford.

At a press conference on Friday, Conceicao initially refused to comment on the speculation, saying (via Football Italia):

“The truth is that directors tried to talk to me about this matter [transfers] but the timing was wrong because we had games to play. I prefer to talk about this at the right moment.
"Honestly, the most important thing to me currently is the next game. I know it’s something we must discuss, but right now, tomorrow’s game is the most important thing. Perhaps we can discuss this important matter the day after the game.”

However, on being pressed on the subject by another reporter, the Milan coach said that he held Rashford in high regard and hinted at possible talks:

"You try in any way… in Portugal, it’s even worse! Here, you talk about football, and I like it, but once in a while, somebody makes an attempt. But that’s fine, I am here to reply. Rashford is a good player, like others. Let’s see what happens.”

Football Italia further reported that according to multiple sources, the Serie A giants have opened up talks with the striker but need him to agree to a pay cut. Meanwhile, Sky Sport Italia has reported that Milan have also offered to sign Rashford on loan with an option to buy.

Rashford could be valuable to second-half of Milan's season

Marcus Rashford could be a valuable figure to AC Milan in the second half of their 2024-25 campaign. The Rossoneri have struggled in the league campaign and currently sit way outside of UEFA Champions League spots in eighth place.

Moreover, the side could qualify for the knockout stages in the current season of the European showpiece, congesting their fixture list further. In such a case, having another big name join their squad could be a boost.

The 27-year-old brings a lot of experience, and if fit, can add plenty of firepower to AC Milan's offensive vanguard that already boasts Alvaro Morata and Christian Pulisic. He has scored 138 goals in 426 appearances across competitions for the Red Devils.
