Fans have taken to social media to react to France attacker Christopher Nkunku's impressive performance against Israel on October 10. Nkunku was quite unstoppable in his team's 4-1 Nations League win over their opponents, scoring the second goal at the Bozsik Arena.
During the 76 minutes he played, the 26-year-old winger was a source of problems for the Israeli defense. Despite a shot going wayward, he created a goal for himself with a brilliant piece of play.
A pass from Eduardo Camavinga to Nkunku saw him flick the ball into the box before making a quick turn to past his markers and meet it. Israeli goalkeeper Omri Glazer had no chance, as the Chelsea forward buried his effort to put them up 2-1, while his teamamtes continued the onslaught to make it 4-1 before the end.
Fans were pleased with his attacking quality for France, as they shared posts of appreciation on X.
"Nkunku He's so good in tight spaces," a fan said.
"Nkunku is impressing tonight," another added.
"I say it all the time, but Nkunku is one of the very few players who have actually mastered time and space around the final third. The things he does around/in the box is incredible. He's a true killer." a fan explained.
"Nkunku is just so good 💯 He makes something out of nothing," another wrote.
"Nkunku is going cook for club and country. 8 goals already this season and it’s just October🇫🇷⭐️," added a fifth.
"This is definitely Nkunku's season!," a fan said.
"See that Nkunku’s goal is not a fluke.. He did against Liverpool, did it against Bournemouth, now he has done it again.. The guy is goodddd," another wrote.
France boss Didier Deschamps explains why Mbappe was left out of squad
France boss Didier Deschamps has explained why he opted for the October international break without Kylian Mbappe in the national team squad. Les Bleus have their next Nations League match against Belgium on October 14 at the King Baudouin Stadium, but Mbappe will not partake in that game either.
The Real Madrid superstar did not join up with the national team due to fitness concerns. However, questions have been raised about Deschamps not calling him up due to influence from Los Blancos. The France head coach rejected this notion, telling the press (via GOAL):
“Mbappe was not fit against Villarreal. There was no request. The decision is mine. He played the Villarreal game without being 100 per cent fit.”
Kylian Mbappe will hope he is fully fit when club matches resume, as Real Madrid have an upcoming LaLiga match against Celta Vigo on October 19 at the Estadio de Balaidos.
