Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta recently spoke about the injury that attacker Bukayo Saka sustained, mentioning the latter's 'incredible' record over the last six years.
Saka, who has grown to become one of the best players for Arsenal and England over the last few seasons, sustained a hamstring injury in their previous game against Crystal Palace on December 21.
Speaking in the pre-match press conference before Arsenal's match against Ipswich Town at home, Arteta feels that Saka would soon be fine.
"When you look at his history in six years, it’s incredible. It’s very difficult to find a more robust player in the league, especially at his age. It’s an injury and he will be fine," said Arteta.
The initial prognosis is that the 23-year-old is expected to come back only by mid-February next year.
Operating primarily on the right wing, Bukayo Saka has scored five goals and provided 10 assists in the Premier League this season. He started in all 16 matches that he played before being laid low by the injury.
His absence will be a big blow to Arsenal's chances in the second half of the season.
"We are looking at every option" - Mikel Arteta on Arsenal managing without Bukayo Saka
Manager Arteta, however, feels that Arsenal can manage without Saka, and that they will be giving their best on the pitch. The Spaniard said that he will also ask his wards to ensure that they do not want somebody doing an impression of Saka, and just be themselves when they step out to play, according to Arseblog.
"We are looking at every option that we can do, especially as we lost two [players]. We are going to be different, trying to be the same but worse, I don’t want. Somebody trying to do [an impression] of Bukayo [I don’t want], that player has to be himself and for the team to be himself. That’s the direction," said Arteta.
The Gunners are ranked fourth in the Premier League at the moment with 33 points to their name. They will next play against Ipswich Town on Friday, December 27.
