Former tennis world no. 1 Boris Becker has asked new Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany to snap up PSG midfielder Xavi Simons, who's in action at Euro 2024. The 21-year-old has been impressive for the Netherlands at the ongoing tournament in Germany.
Simons has played 135 minutes across the first two games of the Oranje's European campaign. Ronald Koeman's side beat Poland 1-0 in their opener before drawing goalless with France in their second, with Simons giving a good account of himself in both outings.
The 21-year-old even drew praise from Les Bleus captain Kylian Mbappe - who didn't play the Netherlands game due to injury. Considering Simons' impressive performances, Becker wants Kompany to try out the youngster, initially on loan, tweeting:

Simons, on loan from PSG, had a decent 2023-24 season for Leipzig, contributing 10 goals and 15 assists in 43 games across competitions. However, the midfielder is set to return to his parent club after the ongoing European Championship.
As per transfer guru Fabrizio Romano (via Bayern & Germany), Simons has asked the Parisians to let him go. He's set for another loan move next season, with Bayern or Leipzig the two sides vying for his services.
How many Bayern Munich players are at Euro 2024?
Bayern Munich have a significant contingent at the ongoing Euro 2024. Eleven players from the Bundesliga giants have been selected for various teams competing in the Championships.
Among them, five of them - Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich, Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sane and Thomas Muller - are in hosts Germany's squad. Julian Nagelsmann's side are into the Euro 2024 knockouts after winning their opening two games. A sixth player - Aleksandar Pavlovic - was also selected, but he withdrew two days before the finals.
The other Bayern players at Euro 2024 are Dayot Upamecano and Kingsley Coman for France, Matthijs de Ligt for the Netherlands, Konrad Laimer of Austria and Harry Kane of England.
