Former Chelsea midfielder Hakim Ziyech has expressed his dissatisfaction with life at Galatasaray and is prepared to leave the club at the earliest opportunity. The Morocco international completed a permanent switch to the Turkish champions in the summer after spending the 2023-24 season on loan at the club.
As part of a major clear-out at the end of their first year in charge, Chelsea's owners sanctioned a loan move for Ziyech to Galatasaray. This was done in spite of the former Ajax man being in the final year of his contract. He essentially moved to the Turkish club at the end of his temporary stint.
Hakim Ziyech helped Gala win the Super Lig in his first season at the club but now appears to be at loggerheads with the club and its manager, Okan Buruk. The 31-year-old revealed that he was meant to leave in the summer, but the club refused to let him. He also said that Buruk is the worst coach he has worked with.
He said (via Tribal Football):
"Galatasaray, it's over for me, I told them I'm leaving in January. They don't ask me anything anymore, I do what I want.
"I've never seen such a bad coach as Okan Buruk. If Galatasaray can win the title? I don't care... Leave me alone, no matter what happens. I already regret coming.
"I was supposed to leave at the beginning of the season, but they didn't want to. I'm leaving in January."
Ziyech has played just 11 times across competitions this season, logging a total of 320 minutes and recording just one assist. He played 23 games in his debut season, scoring eight goals and providing four assists for the club. The Morocco international is on the radar of a number of sides, including Ligue 1 outfit Rennes, as he looks to move clubs in January.
Chelsea complete agreement with on-loan star over permanent summer switch - Reports
Chelsea have reached an agreement with Manchester United loanee Jadon Sancho over a permanent switch at the end of the 2024-25 season, as per Simon Phillips. The Blues signed the Englishman on loan with an obligation to buy for £25 million if they finished above 15th in the Premier League.
The report indicates that the Blues have made their intention to keep to player known. They have reached an agreement with the 24-year-old over a permanent contract. Currently sitting in second place on the log, it seems inconceivable that the Blues will fail to achieve the condition required to make the signing permanent.
Sancho has been in fine form for Chelsea this season and looks a player reborn under Enzo Maresca. The former Borussia Dortmund man has two goals and three assists in 10 league appearances.
